Where the numbers come from

Every figure on WeatherChirp is computed from the ERA5 reanalysis produced by the Copernicus Climate Change Service at ECMWF — a globally consistent, hour-by-hour reconstruction of the world’s weather — reduced to 30-year (1991–2020) climate normals — for every month and every season — at each city’s exact coordinates. It’s the typical weather you can plan around, not a forecast.
